Meet Wayne

Wayne is a problem solver with a lifetime passion for public service. That passion has propelled him to preserve, protect and improve Rancho Mirage. Wayne’s family has had homes in the Coachella Valley for decades. He began his career as a top aide and Chief of Staff to two Los Angeles City Councilmembers, Zev Yaroslavsky and Bob Ronka. He served as a close and trusted advisor to Zev during his legendary career. He and Bob Ronka drafted a City Charter Amendment to ensure the 1984 Olympic Games would be at a minimal cost to taxpayers. Wayne served on two government commissions and was an officer for two regional businesses, one public and one private. He has been an attorney for thirty-plus years and is an Amazon bestselling novelist. He and his wife, Ann, reside in The Springs. Wayne has two sons and daughters-in-law, Grant and Yani, Bret and Shia, and two granddaughters, two-year-old Zayda and baby Gemma, born in April of this year.

WAYNE'S PLEDGES TO:

* Donate his first year's Rancho Mirage council salary to local charities.

* Institute two four-year term limits. Wayne will serve only two terms.

* Serve as a champion of the business community. The city must proactively retain, assist, and attract businesses. Wayne would designate one city staff person as an ombudsman for local businesses.

* There are ten Rancho Mirage city commissions, but inexplicably, none focused on our senior community.

Wayne will call for a new commission dedicated to purposeful aging, especially for those in need.
